The Slumber Queen gets her first long haul

Our exact means of how we were getting to Colorado for Christmas 2018 was unsure until our local trusted mechanic was able to get the RV in at the last minute and to our surprise, needed nothing but a $56 oil change. So the decision was made the day before we headed to Silverstar to host a judging clinic that we would take the RV there, and head straight to Colorado for Christmas… the long way. So we set off, four days after Heather defended her thesis with little agenda but to find the snow.

With the snow not looking stellar in BC, we headed to Montana via Rossland, BC. It was a short trip through Rossland with a few more edits to Heather’s thesis but proved to be a super neat place that quickly added to our ‘must get back to’ list. After a quick break to catch up with a few friends in Bozman, we found our way to Driggs, ID. We finally got the touring gear out on Teton Pass with our friend James.

Two days on Teton Pass would have to be enough. We avoided the pass with the RV and went the long way around. We were getting used to taking the long way at a slow pace. In Wyoming we came across warning advisories, or more accurately, the highway closed for “high profile low-weight vehicles” aka us. So an overnight at the local rest stop and made it to Colorado by morning. A much needed Christmas with the family and off to our next adventure…
